MBABANE:Marwick Khumalo, the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) and Chairman of the Members of Parliament and Designated Office Bearers Pension Fund(MOPADO) has confirmed that, released ex-lawmaker Mthandeni Dube is taken care-of and receiving his pension like all former Members of Parliament(MPs).
Responding to this Swaziland News on Thursday morning when asked to “clarify if the ex-MP is taken care-of”, Khumalo said as the Chairman of MOPADO and other senior Management Officers, they visited Dube while he was in prison and explained all his rights to benefit from the Pension Fund even though he was incarcerated.
“When he came-out, he continued to benefit as member of MOPADO. We visited him while he was in prison to explain all his rights and benefits,” said the MOPADO Chairman.
Efforts to seek a comment from Dube proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report, the Correctional Services banned him from speaking to the media as part of his conditional release.
On another note, the MOPADO Chairman stated that, even ex-MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza is benefiting as a member of the Pension Fund.
