OPINION:Monarchy’s name must not be used to oppress or abuse other emaSwati, Dwaleni Farm Lodge owner Busisiwe Mabuza-Dlamini must face the law for assaulting employee

Tuesday, 23rd December, 2025

In this country, there’s a huge identical crisis, power hungry individuals want to be associated with royalty so that they can abuse power, oppress the poor and vulnerable emaSwati and, loot State resources.

The identical crisis has resulted to others who are “non-Dlaminis” wearing “emasondvo” as part of their traditional attire (imvunulo), the scramble to be a Dlamini or look like a Dlamini with ulterior motives within the Tinkhundla system, has escalated to another level.

It was therefore by no surprise or coincidence that, Dwaleni Farm Lodge owner Busisiwe Mabuza who is married to Nkosinathi Dlamini was filmed intimidating and assaulting her employee with fresh information emerging and suggesting that, she has been abusing the name of royalty to intimidate Dwaleni Farm Lodge workers.

But the abuse of other emaSwati in the Monarchy’s name must be criminalized and be punishable otherwise, we will have a serious crisis.

There’s absolutely no superiority in being a Dlamini, all citizens are equal before the law and must be treated with human dignity in the workplace and other structures, there’s only one Dlamini in this country who elevated himself to be above the law and, we don’t know who gave King Mswati Dlamini the license to place himself above the Supreme law of the land.

The Monarchy should not be an institution of oppression but, must serve the people, anyone who hides behind royalty when oppressing other emaSwati must know that, “the time for that nonsense is nearly coming to an end”.

Nontobeko Dlamini, a Dwaleni Farm Lodge worker was assaulted and abused by a woman who claimed nothing will happen to her because “she is married to a Dlamini linked to the royal family”, what a shame!

In this country, we have emaSwati who are poor and vulnerable just because they don’t have connections linking them to the ruling Dlamini royal family, it’s therefore inhuman and against the principles of humanity to then abuse them because they are poor and vulnerable.

In fact, these mini and stupid oppressors using the name of the Monarchy to oppress other emaSwati must face the law, some of us want to see how the Dwaleni Farm Lodge matter will end, Nontobeko Dlamini must be compensated.

Even within the various Chiefdoms, mini oppressors use the name of iMiphakatsi and royalty to oppress other emaSwati, umuntfu wavunula emajobo nje nemhelwane locotfukile lohwabile sotikhandza awase-Bukhosini atiphe lilungelo lekugcilata lamanye emaSwati.

In conclusion, it is important to remind these mini oppressors that, the Monarchy must exist to serve the people, the royal family does not own the people.

Personally, I am a Dlamini who hates injustice regardless who perpetrates it, whether it’s the King or these mini stupid oppressors like Busisiwe Mabuza-Dlamini.

We are early waiting for justice in this matter, Nontobeko Dlamini must be compensated after the embarrassing assault, no worker must be subjected to such because she or he is poor, vulnerable and desperate for a job.
