KHUBUTHA:Eswatini Government’s failure to use taxpayers and maintain roads has been exposed by the ongoing heavy rains, thousands of emaSwati across the country are grounded and unable to move from one place to another.

Residents here at KaMfishane under Khubutha Inkhundla were among the grounded residents on Sunday, some visited their homes but were subsequently unable to go back to work.

Efforts to reach Public Works Minister Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

On another note, the Eswatini Government’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport is reportedly becoming redundant with most projects implemented by Micro-Projects under the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development.

But apart from the roads, the Public Works and Transport Ministry is allegedly failing to maintain or renovate Government houses and Offices.

Eswatini is highly expected to experience more heavily rains throughout the coming week and this means, more emaSwati will be grounded with no means of transport.

Citizens in Eswatini pay Value Added Tax (VAT), Pay as You Earn (PAYE) and Corporate Tax among other taxes, billions are allocated to fund King Mswati’s extravagant lifestyle, the money is also looted by members of the royal family and other powerful and politically connected individuals and businesses.
