MBABANE:Eswatini is among the Southern African countries affected by floods, citizens are reportedly grounded in the rural areas.
As a result, Cabinet Ministers including the country’s Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini and Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla toured various areas on Friday to assess the damage.
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini subsequently told the media on Friday that, King Mswati issued a “Nkwe” order, directing Government to fix the damaged roads.
“We will ensure fix the roads and other infrastructure as per the King’s directive,” said the Prime Minister when addressing journalists, he was touring the Hhohho Region.
On another note, DPM Thuli Dladla with officials from the Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) toured areas including Maphilingo under Siphofaneni Inkhundla, the Government is yet to release an assessment report.
The floods caused a huge damage to roads and bridges, worsening the situation in the Southern African Kingdom with about 70% of the population living below the poverty line.
