MBABANE:Prince Mhlabuhlangene, the Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) says, he will in the next coming few days write a detailed opinion article for the Swaziland News unpacking the country’s election laws and clarifying the difference between campaigning and “kubhunga”.

The Prince was asked by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini to clarify these issues ahead of the 2028 Tinkhundla elections and he agreed saying “he personally respects the editor’s objective approach on political issues by publishing comments even if those comments or views are contrary to his own personal political beliefs.

The EBC Chairman will be unpacking the Tinkhundla system of Government, clarifying provisions of the election laws, he is a lawyer by profession and a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE).

On another note, the EBC Chairman thanked the editor for balancing the Swaziland News articles by publishing views even if those political views are against his own political views.

“You also leave the conclusions to be made on such matters to the public for them to freely deduce what they chose to believe from what they do not, but you  put before the audience all sides for them to democratically elect for themselves, what they accept or not, you don’t put one side only. And that is being professional deserving of equal respect from some of us having the constitutional imperative to equally engage civic education through any and every portal that emaSwati civic society has access, impartially and without any discrimination when it comes to all civic engagements that touch on Democratic Electioneering under the Tinkhundla Political system of Government, which we as the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) are to adhere to even under the International Standards set, that govern Democratic Elections regionally under SADAC and under the United Nations and African Union,” said the EBC Chairman.
