MANZINI: Philip De Sousa, the founder and Director of Dups has come out to clarify and dismiss as false, the information suggesting that a vehicle belonging to the company was seen transporting police officers.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, De Sousa said the information implied that as a company they supported what was happening in the country something which he said cannot be true as they supported an urgent dialogue.
“We have issued a statement to clarify this, we provide services to the public and that Quantum was transporting our staff to their homes. It shouldn’t be like we are supporting what is happening in the country, we reiterate our call for a national dialogue”, he said.
In a public statement, the Management of the company maintained that Dups was privately owned by Liyandza Family Trust, an entity belonging to Philip De Sousa’s Family.
“There are circulating malicious reports that a Dups quantum is moving around with OSSU members. We want to put it on record that this is FALSE. Dups is an essential service provider that deals with funerals and uses its Quantum to transport its staff from and to their homes, particularly night staff. Dups is a privately owned entity, 100% owned by Liyandza Family Trust, an entity belonging to Philip De Sousa’s Family. We have no association whatsoever with OSSU and we reiterate the calls for an urgent national dialogue to address the country’s challenges”, read the statement released by the company.
