EZULWINI: Jabulani Bhembe, the Lobamba Indvuna yeNkhundla wants to organize a protest march to the Lobamba Police Station, he is demanding answers regarding the death of a copper theft suspect who was shot in cold blood by the police on Friday.
Copper theft suspects are ‘sentenced’ to death by the police who, instead of arresting, shoot them with impunity.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Bhembe said he was planning to organize young people in the area to march to the police station to demand the body of the suspect, who allegedly fell and died at the Mbabane river after the shooting.
“It is possible that the police came back later and took the body from the river to hide evidence. I am planning to organize young people to march to the police station to demand answers. Now, we have one question, where is the body?” said the Indvuna yeNkhundla.
Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On Friday, Mswati’s police shot and killed a copper theft suspect, this was condemned by Human Rights Lawyer Thulani Maseko who described it as a gross violation of human rights particularly, the right to life.
