MBABANE: Jabez Private School and other schools urge parents to release their children to school on Wednesday.
This comes after the Executive Command of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF)issued a command temporarily closing schools for two(2) days to pave way for an intelligence operation, according to the Spokesperson, the SISF is expected to intensify attacks on specific targets.
“Please note that our Grade 12s will resume classes tomorrow, a special timetable will be sent out shortly. Grade 12s will formally close on the 19th of August 2022. Reports will be issued as planned on Friday the 12th of August. We hope this arrangement will help our learners prepare well for the final exams,” reads the message sent to parents by the Jabez Private School Management.
Efforts to reach Jabez Management for further comments proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Sikelela Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) urged all teachers to report to work tomorrow(Wednesday) as the threat has been mitigated.
“As teachers, we decided to stay at home not because we didn’t want to work but we were following the law that give us powers to withdraw ourselves from danger. As SNAT, we can now confirm that the threat has been mitigated and we can go back to work tomorrow,” said the SNAT Secretary General.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) told this Swaziland News that they decided to allow schools to open so that children could write their exams in a peaceful environment adding that operations would continue on specific targets.
