MBABANE: King Mswati of eSwatini met Indonesia President His Excellency Joko Widodo to discuss, among others, increased economic cooperation between Eswatini and Indonesia.
According to Government online platforms, the meeting took place on Wednesday at the Istana Merdeka Palace in Jarkata.
“During the meeting, Indonesia expressed desire to assist Eswatini in the development of its energy sector. This will include exploration of opportunities available to Eswatini to make best use of its vast coal resources for beneficiation and export.Today, His Majesty is expected to sign some Joint Cooperation Agreements with Indonesia, which will expand areas of engagement between the two countries on areas of financing infrastructure development, tourism and culture, transfer of technology and education and training. Other areas of cooperation will include mining, agriculture, direct trade and investment, streamlined tax policies, and capacity building for peace and security, reads an online report published by the office of Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo.
