MBABANE: Mlungisi Makhanya,the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) says as an organization,they will continue to promote unity in the struggle not with those who are going to Parliament.

The PUDEMO President released the organization’s End of Year Statement on Saturday where he touched on various issues of public interest.

“For almost forty years now, PUDEMO is digging canals everywhere so that democratic plants can grow everywhere with water redirected to those areas facing political drought.We will continue to fight for unity among the progressive mass democratic movement. Our guide in pursuit of this unity remains: UNITY IN STRUGGLE! We will not pursue unity with those who don't want to struggle but opt for shortcuts, through misleading the people.We are not interested in unity with quasi-religious formations with a religious frame of mind - with “Parliamentarism" as its Holy Bible, “the party” as its church, and the leader as its prophet. The selfishness that characterize these careerists is so shameless that they are proud to call for participation in Tinkhundla elections even with the imprisoned MPs still languishing in jail. They do not even see anything wrong about the fact that the two incarcerated MPs would not have sufficient time to campaign, owing to the fact that they are still incarcerated,”‘said the PUDEMO President.
