MBABANE: Sticks Nkambule, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Transport, Communication and Allied Workers(SWATCAWU) has urged Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku to participate in the highly anticipated April 12-13 national shutdown to demonstrate that Government respected assassinated human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko.
Speaking to this Swaziland News current affairs program on Tuesday, Nkambule said the national shutdown would go ahead and would be implemented by public transport workers.
“Government has been releasing statements saying they respected the assassinated lawyer, we urge the Deputy Prime Minister to consider participating in the national shutdown if indeed, they respected Thulani Maseko. We want to remind the DPM that the shutdown will be implemented, we don’t take instructions from Government but our members,” he said.
On another note, DPM Themba Masuku, when addressing the media on Tuesday said Government would ensure that the national shutdown was blocked.
