South African scientists to conduct research on Madagascar’s COVID-19 herbal treatment.

The Minister of Health is South Africa Dr Zweli Mkhize announced on Wednesday the 6thof May that South African Government will assist the authorities in Madagascar to test and analyse the herbal treatment for COVID-19. 

He revealed this during his address updating the nation on COVID-19.

“We received a call from the Government of Madagascar, which asked for help with scientific research, our scientists would be able to assist in the research” said the South African Health Minister. 

Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina has been promoting a tea infusion based on the artemisia plant, praising it’s benefits. Ever since Madagascar started using the herbs, positive cases have been recovering in that with no reports of deaths linked to COVID-19.
