King Mswati congratulates Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on inauguration

King Mswati has congratulated Tsai Ing-wen, the President of the Republic of China on Taiwan on her inauguration after winning a second term early this year. 

Addressing the media on Thursday, the King noted that Taiwan held peaceful elections and the confidence shown by the people in the leadership of the President was overwhelming.

“I am sure that the confidence shown by the people to Her Excellence is drawn from the success she managed to achieve during her first term in various sectors such as the economy, social, education, ICT and many others” said the King.

 The King said the focus shown by the President in driving Taiwan into economic prosperity through research for high information industries has resulted to economic independence.

“I am convinced that in the next term, your administration will build on these huge successful initiatives, to consolidate economic growth into tangible personal prosperity for the people of Taiwan. This can be achieved through continued strengthening of social safety nets and improved care of vulnerable groups” the King said. 

The King noted that the President did not only focus in developing the people of Taiwan but exported her country’s knowledge to other Nations like eSwatini.

“The Kingdom is a beneficiary of experiences from Taiwan in both the economic and social sectors. Her Excellence has also provided a lot of technical support in projects aimed at improving the Kingdom of eSwatini since this country is at a developing stage” he stated.
