MBABANE: Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) says, once they take over the government, they will cut diplomatic ties with Taiwan, a province of the Mainland China.
As reported by this Swaziland News earlier on Monday, Taiwan stands accused of distributing rice to influence the outcomes of the ongoing Tinkhundla undemocratic elections.
“As the Swazi people, we will change course and forge principled diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.It is apparent that the province of Taiwan is financially supporting this repressive regime,” said the PUDEMO President.
Jeremy Liang, the Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan declined to comment, he referred comments to the Government of eSwatini.
But Alpheous Nxumalo, Government Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan is currently distributing rice across the country with an alleged intention to, among others, influence the outcomes of the ongoing Tinkhundla undemocratic elections.
