MBABANE: Mancoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade has launched an investment partnership with Economic Community of the African Diaspora(ECO-6), Government online platforms reported on Wednesday.
It has been reported to that, ECO-6 will set up their regional offices in the country and will work with the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) to lure investors from the African Diaspora into the country.
“ECO-6 has confirmed to government and EIPA that they have made the decision to set up their base in Eswatini in order to advance their economic integration agenda on the continent. They have already registered their company here, and when they return in the new year, they will outline their program of action,” said the Commerce Minister when speaking during the welcoming ceremony on Wednesday.
On another note, Timothy Elisha MacPherson from ECO-6 said, they will work closely with the Eswatini Government to integrate the regional economic institutions.
“With immediate effect, ECO-6 will work closely with the Government of Eswatini to integrate the institutions of our regional economic community within our new home in Africa,” he said.
