MBABANE:Chief Justice(CJ) Bheki Maphalala and Supreme Court Judge Phesheya Dlamini took turns, in blasting Government for refusing and delaying to award junior police officers their salary increment under Phase two(2).

This transpired on Monday when the matter between Government and the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) appeared before the Supreme Court, CJ Maphalala wondered why it took Government over ten(10) to release the money, resulting to the junior police officers engaging in a protest march in demand for the salary increment.

The police Staff Association took Government to court after the then National Commissioner suspended junior police officers who participated in a protest march in demand for the salary increment under Phase two(2).

“We will ensure that justice prevails in this matter because we don’t understand why Government decided to award senior police officers an increase and neglect junior police and Correctional Services officers. It is surprising that whenever the officers decide to make a follow-up on their money, they are charged and suspended”, said the Chief Justice.

On another note,Supreme Court Judge Phesheya Dlamini wondered why this matter was neglected for a long time, judgement has been reserved in the matter.
