“His bold actions invited the ire of the security forces, resulting in arson attacks to his property. He and his family were continually subjected to relentless harassment and intimidation. The pivotal role he played in the struggle for democratic reforms and human rights in Eswatini was crucial in placing the struggle at the centre of the geo-political space. Through his efforts, he popularised Sive Siyinqaba and raised its political bar, becoming a force to be reckoned with. As a leader, his political ideology shifted from its original position becoming a left-leaning fighter, a respectable and disciplined militant leader. Ngoma single-handedly uprooted Sive Siyinqaba from its moderate-conservative base and adopted a more robust and radical approach in his quest for a more democratic and inclusive political dispensation. He was never deterred by the brutal reception he received, and was subjected to political oppression that led to his expulsion from the traditional royal regiment.Sive Siyinqaba National Movement dips its banner in honour of this inspirational leader,” reads the statement in part.
