MBABANE:Dr Ndumiso Dlamini, a well-known and highly respected eSwatini Dentist was allegedly forced to resign as an employee of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) by Army Commander Mashikilisane Fakudze after refusing to undergo more physical military training.

A Dentist, also known as a Dental Doctor, Dental Physician or Dental Surgeon is a health care professional who specializes in dentistry, the branch of medicine focusing on the teeth, gums and mouth.

Dr Dlamini is alleged to have asked the Commander why he was sending him to Mbuluzi Army Barracks again for more training as he was employed as a Dentist and a Specialist, to treat soldiers.

But the Army Commander is alleged to have told him to go for the training or resign, “Dr Ndumiso Dlamini decided to resign and is now operating his own Dental Clinic in Mbabane”.

Dr Ndumiso Dlamini was contacted by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Sunday and he confirmed resigning from the army but asked not to comment further.

But a source within the army told the editor that, the Dentist resigned after failing to reach a common ground with the Army Commander regarding the training and other administrative issues.

“He resigned last year after failing to reach a common ground with the Army Commander on an administrative and other issues, the Commander wanted him to undergo more physical training and he felt he was not employed to command military operations but as a Doctor. Now we have no Dentist as soldiers,” said the source.

Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze who has been dividing the army since taking over the position, declined to comment about the matter, soldiers are now without a Dental Doctor after the Commander constructively dismissed Dr Ndumiso Dlamini who is well-known in eSwatini for being a reputable Dentist.

On another note, the Commander is now a subject of a Royal Commission investigation ordered by King Mswati to investigate allegations of corruption, maladministration and abuse of power amid tension and division within the army subsequent to the investigative articles published by this Swaziland News.

The Army Commander confirmed that, he was being investigated by the Commission as per the King’s Command and this, was during a meeting for Commanding Officers held at Nokwane Army Headquarters last week.
