MBABANE:Senator Isaac Magagula,the former National Commissioner of Police allegedly stole cocaine drugs worth R17million and went on to sabotage a high profile drugs syndicate criminal case involving suspected drug dealer Mandla Joseph Lukhuleni.
The suspect of Nkhaba area, who was driving a vehicle with registration numbers CA867325, was arrested by the eSwatini police around the 27th January 2018 according to documents contained in the criminal file, he was secretly released by the then National Commissioner and the criminal case died a natural death.
The Times of eSwatini reported a story on the 29th January 2018 about cocaine drugs busted by the police at the Oshoek Border but, the suspect was not named and the case involving drugs worth such a huge amount of money, never saw the light of the day.
Police sources who leaked the criminal file to this Swaziland News alleged that, the then National Commissioner sabotaged the case and subsequently facilitated the release of the suspect after grabbing the cocaine drugs for himself and his high profile eSwatini drugs smuggling syndicate.
A copy of the drug smuggling suspect Mandla Joseph Lukhuleni’s passport linking him to crime scene, was also attached in the criminal file.
The suspect’s travel history suggests that, he obtained the passport on the 17th January 2018 but quickly traveled to Mozambique via Mhlumeni Boarder, he was frequenting Mozambique, eSwatini and South Africa raising reasonable suspicion that, eSwatini was used as a conduit for the smuggling of the cocaine drugs.
Senator Isaac Magagula declined to comment about these allegations but, the whereabouts of the cocaine drugs remain unknown.
On another note, Senator Magagula is the same former National Commissioner who allegedly grabbed R24million drugs belonging to businessman Sipho Shongwe and subsequently handed over same to Victor Gamedze resulting to Shongwe killing the Swazi Mobile founder.
