MBABANE:Prince Lonkhokhela, the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy says the establishment of the State owned Eswatini National Petroleum Company(ENPC) comes amid regional cooperation with the Interstate Oil Committee (IOC).
The Natural Resources and Energy Minister was speaking when officially opening the IOC meeting on Tuesday, he expressed eSwatini’s commitment to regional cooperation on energy matters.
“The Interstate Oil Committee has been a pivotal platform for advancing our country's fuel pricing model, establishing a transparent profit margin calculation methodology, and reforming our petroleum sector through the Petroleum Act, 2020. These achievements, alongside the formation of the Eswatini National Petroleum Company, are testament to the profound impact of regional cooperation facilitated by this committee," said the Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
The IOC meeting brings together South Africa, eSwatini, Namibia, Lesotho and Botswana to discuss energy matters.
