Commerce Minister Mancoba Khumalo graced Stratcom Media-Technology Park Digital Transformation Summit, encourages young innovators to embrace technology and develop the country.

MBABANE:Mancoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade has urged young innovators to embrace technology and lead the country into the digital age, Government online platforms reported.

The Commerce Minister was speaking during the opening of a two(2)-day Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Digital Transformation Summit held under the theme: “Empowering the Next Generation: AI Skills, Innovation and Opportunity".

The event organised by Stratcom Media in collaboration with the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) under the Ministry of ICT, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, and other key partners, including UNESCO, NAMBOARD, Clinton Health Access Initiative, and the Innovators Association of Eswatini, was held at the University of Eswatini-Kwaluseni on Wednesday.

“Digital transformation is no longer a choice - it is a necessity for competitiveness, growth, and resilience. The world is moving rapidly, and Eswatini must not be left behind”, said the Commerce Minister.

On another note, Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) Minister Maziya said “AI is no longer optional adding that, digitalizing the education, health, financial, and trade sectors is urgent hence Summit was a step toward shaping that future”.
