MBABANE:King Mswati is ready to take over as the Chairman of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Troika and contribute to regional peace and stability, his Spokesperson Percy Simelane told this Swaziland News this week.
SADC Troika is a governance structure within SADC focusing on political, defense, and security matters.
The organ is responsible for promoting peace, security, and stability in the region and empowered to make quick decisions and provide policy direction on behalf of SADC to safeguard peace and stability within the region.
Spokesperson Percy Simelane said, the eSwatini Monarch has experience in regional politics and the understanding of the African leadership mandate to it’s people.
“With the experience he has in regional politics and the understanding of the African leadership mandate to its people, I have no doubt he is not going to fail the region.He has been to similar positions before and he did exceptionally well. Eswatini is more than ready to contribute to regional order. As one of the oldest Nations in Southern Africa, we believe Kingdom shall succeed proving to be the big brother it is where it counts the most in the quest for lasting peace in the region. We salute SADC for continuing to believe in Eswatini’s capabilities and relevance,” said the King’s Spokesperson.
King Mswati is currently the Deputy Chairman of the SADC Troika, he will take over the Chairman next year.
