MBABANE:BOTHO University students marched to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on Monday to deliver a petition highlighting discrepancies in their scholarship agreements.
The protesters, organized through the Student Representative Council (SRC),voiced concerns over conditions that they claim contradict the original terms signed upon enrollment.
But the demonstration, which began at the University Campus in Manzini and proceeded peacefully to the Ministry offices, “underscores growing discontent among scholarship beneficiaries amid economic pressures”.
The petition signed by over 500 students, calls for immediate intervention from the Ministry to address what the demonstrators described as “exploitative and misleading" scholarship provisions.
