Save the Children Director says they are committed in protecting the rights of children.

MBABANE: Dumisani Mnisi, the Executive Director of Save the Children says they remain committed in protecting the rights of children.

Speaking to this Swaziland News in an exclusive interview, Mnisi said they worked with various stakeholders and human rights organizations in ensuring that the rights of children were protected.

He was responding to questions and concerns raised by the editorial management of this publication that the organization remained silent as police brutalized protesting children in the rural areas.

“As an organization, we work with various stakeholders and the Deputy Prime Minister's (DPM's) office to ensure the protection of children. We want to emphasize that children should not be exposed to violence or used to fulfil agendas”, he said.

Dlamini said they were aware of the situation in schools where children were allegedly abused by the police or exposed to an environment where police carried guns to school, he condemned this saying it brought trauma to  the children.
