LOZITHA:King Mswati allegedly presented three(3) sealed and locked suitcases to visiting former South African President Jacob Zuma, sources within the security team told this Swaziland News this week.

The suitcases came from the King’s Office at Lozitha, one was allegedly carried straight to Zuma’s car by Chief Protocol Officer Khandlela Mdluli, another King’s Office employee identified as Masiko and one of Zuma’s bodyguards.

“The suitcases were sealed and locked and we suspected that there was some cash inside”, said one of the bodyguards.

But the allegations suggesting that there was cash inside could not be independently verified as the suitcases were allegedly sealed and locked, as a result, only the giver and the receiver knew what was inside.

Reached for comments on Tuesday evening, King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said, he was not aware if the two(2) Heads of State exchanged gifts.

“I am not aware of any exchange of gifts between the two Heads of State”, said the King’s Spokesperson.

Efforts to reach Zuma’s Spokesperson proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Former President Jacob Zuma graced the recent Army Day and that was when he received the alleged gift from the King.
