MATSAPHA:Peter Wolf,the Managing Director of Matsapha Allied Plastics says,the recent plastic carrier bags ban by the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Jane Mkhonta-Simelane won’t affect his manufacturing company.

Responding to this Swaziland News this week, the Managing Director(MD) said,the manufacturing factory “is producing various plastic products” including containers not carrier bags.

“The business of plastic manufacturing is diverse Zweli and we are not producing plastic carrier bags but different products including containers. So the plastic carrier bags ban won’t affect us”, said the Managing Director(MD).

When asked to share some pictures of his products inside the factory, the Managing Director(MD) laughed saying,with the article and pictures,this journalist might tip competitors about the products manufactured inside the factory and the types of machinery used.

“In every business there’s a secret,so if I can show you even the machines we use,our competitors might get an idea how we produce our products”,said the Managing Director(MD).

The decision by the Government to ban plastic carrier bags has been condemned by women street vendors who told this publication that,they will now struggle to sell fruits and vegetables to their customers without the plastic carrier bags.

But climate change awareness organizations including Yibutse Green Action applauded the Environmental Affairs Minister for the decision that seeks to mitigate the effects of climate change and contribute to environmental health.
