God who is a spiritual being in his trinity with no bank account, but his name here on Earth is used to collect money from unsuspecting human beings, the money is referenced “God’s money”.
When we(Christians) and contributors of the money demand that, our offerings be used to help the poor, we are threatened and told that, if we continue questioning God’s money, we will be cursed.
As a result, most Christians, out of respect for their God, end-up keeping quiet and watch one man living a lavish lifestyle with their money while church members struggle and told that, their wealth is in Heaven.
Even Tinkhundla loyalists use King Mswati’s name to engage in corruption, taking bribes and grabbing land from the poor knowing that, the victims won’t approach Mswati to confirm these acts of corruption.
It’s very hard for Mswati to fight corruption in this country because he can’t leave the Palace and arrest suspects, he rely on the very same loyalists hoping that, they will implement his orders.
But there’s a systematic way to defy the King, those tasked with fighting corruption will just say; “lendzaba leyo sisayisebenta Ngwenyama” and that would be the end of the criminal case.
The corruption in Government is deep rooted such that, the King’s call in his Speech from the Throne, to fight corruption will remain a dream, an investigation might be conducted but when it comes to arrest, the law enforcement is normally reluctant.
But even if the suspects could be arrested, the matter might drag for years in court and files or court documents including evidence, will then disappear.
In conclusion, let me share this story; one day women street vendors approached King Sobhuza to report Municipality security guards and police officers who were arresting them for selling fruits and vegetables in town without a trading license.
The women said; “Sisite Ngwenyama bayasihlupha lamadolobheni nasitsi siyatsengisa setama kutiphilisa basemuka loku lesikutsengisako, basibophe baphindze basikhiphe”.
After King Sobhuza who was with his bodyguards that included police officers listened to the women, he asked them to repeat their sentiments saying “Nitsini?”, “bayanibopha baphindze banikhulule?”.
The women said; “Kunjalo Bayethe Wena Waphakathi, bayasibopha baphindze basikhulule”.
King Sobhuza then said; “Ewu nincono nine bayanibopha bahle banikhulula, bukani mine(pointing at his bodyguards), sooooolo ngaboshwa!!!”.
Sobhuza was literally saying, despite being a King, he was, in one way or the other, a slave of those next to him.
A King operates through emaBandla or those around him and, if they are corrupt and protecting each other, he can’t do anything until he overhauls the entire system around him.
