MBABANE:The Eswatini National Provident Fund(ENPF) has introduced a new application that reports employers to their workers for failing to remit deducted contributions.

The technology system enables workers to be updated with regards to their contributions and, monitor if their employers are remitting the deducted monies.

Efforts to reach Futhie Tembe, the ENPF Chief Executive Officer(CEO) proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Wander Mkhonza, the Secretary General of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland(ATUSWA) applauded ENPF for the technology system saying it promotes transparency and accountability of public funds.

“It’s an impressive innovation that promotes transparency and accountability because through this application, workers are consistently updated about their monies. The application even sends an SMS informing you that your employer has deposited your money and, it also reports those who are not remitting. But we urge the Provident Fund to enforce the law and take companies failing to remit the deducted monies to court,” he said.
